Every year, AIL conducts a number of important fundraising and awareness campaign events.
These events have become a tradition for all AIL’s supporters and are AIL’s lifeblood.
The funds raised meet social and scientific needs. We use them not only to provide assistance to patients and promote research, but also to raise the level of public awareness of the campaign against leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Much has been done over the last few years, but there is so much more to do!

Research gets a boost!
At the AIL general assembly in 1989, the Reggio Calabria Section proposed the idea of national Christmas flower (poinsetta) distribution in the streets and piazzas of Italy is AIL’s main
‘trade mark’ and a familiar sight throughout Italy.
We’re in the streets and squares
of Italy’s towns and cities, so tie a knot in your handkerchief...more than 3,000 “piazzas” around Italy are ‘‘patrolled’ by our volunteers.
It is one of the most noteworthy
of AIL’s campaigns directed toward the Italian public at large.
The objective of the “National Day” is to highlight the important role played by scientific research in the field of blood cancers. Treatment for leukaemia, lymphomas and myeloma is currently undergoing a “magic moment”. In recent years, the extraordinary results of research have led to increasingly effective treatments, including cell stem transplants, and “intelligent” drugs. This means that these diseases are becoming more and more easy to treat.

Dialogue generates success!
The “AIL per i Pazienti – mieloma” and “AIL per i Pazienti – linfoma” initiatives are “interactive seminaries” for doctors, patients and families. They are promoted by AIL in collaboration with the International Myeloma Foundation for Myeloma and Lymphoma Coalition for Lymphomas.
The seminaries have become a fixed date in the agendas of patients. These periodic events are now organised to take in an itinerary consisting of many locations. They are an extremely important occasion for many since it provides an opportunity to meet up with the top experts and practitioners. They effectively meet community needs for information, understanding and support and benefits all engaged in the struggle against Multiple Myeloma and Lymphomas.
Fundraising events are also organized by our 80 Section to support research and home assistance.
